C.R.B.G. will show the largest game animals that inhabit the Golden State with
pictures of the highest-ranking animals in each division. Article clips and professionally
written stories will be used to tell how these top trophies were taken. State
game agencies and hunting organizations will be listed as well as guides, outfitters,
and big game hunting clubs. There
is no charge or fee to enter, however three quality prints (photos) are required
for antlered game. Prints showing
a front view and two side views are recommended. For Blacktail and mule deer submit
a picture of their flank (tail) end if possible. Some
of C.R.B.G.'s deer boundaries are flexible allowing for questionable entries to
be examined, and using the photos and other evidence the C.R.B.G. attempts to
place each animal into their biologically correct category. All other entered
game requires just one print. All
entries must be measured using the Safari Club International (S.C.I.) scoring
system by an S.C.I., Boone and Crockett (B&C), or Pope and Young (P&Y) official
measurer. After the book is published the C.R.B.G. would like to congratulate
hunters with a certificate showing their
name and rank of their big game animal in the California Records of Big Game.
